Supporting 11+ Students During the Summer Holidays
With 11+ exams taking place at the end of September and in January for independent schools, it’s essential for students to keep up their studies throughout the summer break. That’s why we prioritise supporting our 11+ students with structured holiday sessions.
We offer weekly workshops throughout the summer holidays, as well as intensive half-day revision days as the exam dates draw closer. Our experienced tutor, Nicola, has developed and run numerous successful 11+ courses in London over the past few years, ensuring our students receive expert guidance and support.
Designed to both challenge and encourage your child, our holiday sessions are tailored to help them achieve their best.

Our 11+ Course
Cost £33.00 Per Class
(Maximum adult to child ratio 1:5)
Classes take place after school on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening in Nomansland and Landford. Our 11+ course covers all aspects of the test, with homework used to support and consolidate learning. Lessons are in groups but amended to suit and support learning for all members of the group - changed weekly to support your child, with all content covered. Experienced teachers lead the learning.
Parents work closely with Nicola and Scott to help their child make good progress. Nicola has been a primary school teacher for nearly 30 years and has been teaching children for the 11+ for over 14 years. She also writes and teaches 11+ courses in London, helping children to join leading independent schools. Scott is an experienced secondary school teacher who has been specialising in teaching Non Verbal Reasoning for many years.

11+ Mock Tests
April 2026 and June 2026 (dates to be announced nearer the time)
Bartley Junior School, Cadnam, SO40 2HR
Start: 8.55am
The 11+ mock test is £55 per child (to be paid before the test). Feedback will be given within 10 working days. Feedback will include how your child performed in each test (with areas they need to develop) and how they concentrated and worked under test conditions (plus tips and techniques to use in their actual exams).
Forest First Tutoring offers 11+ mock tests to develop children's learning and understanding in the four main components of the 11+ syllabus while giving them valuable experience of preparing for and sitting an 11+ test. Because mock tests simulate an actual test environment, it allows children to become familiar with the test format, time constraints and the question types. The experience is planned to enhance learning, build confidence and reduce any potential anxiety.

8.55: Children arrive
9.05: Maths (25 minutes) followed by 5 minute break
9.35: Non Verbal Reasoning (35 minutes) + 5 minutes and four, 2 minute breaks between five Subtests
10.10 - Break
10.30: English (25 minutes) followed by 5 minute break
11.00: Verbal Reasoning (25 minutes)
11.30: Please collect children from the front of the school

Our SEND support is second to none! 25% extra time provision is available for all children who have this as their normal way of completing tests in school. We also support children who need rest breaks, a reader and a quieter setting.
*Children will need to bring a clear pencil case or polythene bag with 2 HB pencils, pencil sharpener, rubber, ruler and a drink and small snack for break.

STARTING APRIL 2026
11+ Foundation Course
Cost £33.00 a session.
(Maximum adult to child ratio 1:5)
The Foundation 11+ course is designed to prepare Year 4 children for the 11+ programme they will begin with us in Year 5. It was developed in response to a request from parents who wanted their children to have time to understand what they would be learning, strengthen their knowledge and skills and work alongside other students on the same journey.
The course focuses on consolidating literacy, numeracy, and reasoning skills through a range of written problem-solving tasks, practical activities, and engaging learning games. It aims to increase children’s confidence and appreciation of their own ability and provide regular practice in the core elements of the 11+ syllabus. Our goal is to nurture happy, motivated learners who feel well-prepared and excited to begin their 11+ course in September.
Foundation 11+ classes begin in April 2026, with small group sizes led by an experienced teacher. Running alongside our Foundation course, we also offer Maths and English lessons for children in Years 3 and 4 who plan to begin the 11+ course in future years.
