Over the past year at Forest 1st Tutoring, we have developed a unique and effective approach to teaching spelling, ‘Words Within Words.’
This technique begins with children creating a larger word using a prefix and suffix, with guided support. The structure of the word and its syllables are always discussed and from this larger word, children then identify and build smaller words. We've found that this method helps children make rapid progress, especially when paired with additional strategies like air-writing the word while saying the letter names, writing it on a pad, or practicing with tactile tools such as a sand tray.

£45 for a paired session
For 45 minutes:
£30 per session for 3 or more children
