Helping your child to flourish academically
Hi, I'm Nicola and I have been passionate about teaching for over 30 years. I qualified as a teacher from Oxford University in 1995 and since I have taught children from Year R to Year 13. I have been a deputy-headteacher, have qualified as a headteacher (gaining the N.P.Q.H. in 2004), and taught trainee teachers at university.
I have two children and, with my partner Scott and our dog Saffie, live in Landford, in the New Forest. I have been tutoring, alongside teaching in schools, for over 14 years and specialise in 11+ support, teaching English & Maths and SAT's preparation. In April 2023 I qualified as a specialist dyslexia teacher with the British Dyslexia Association and use this to support pupils aged 11 - 18 years in and out of school. I now work full time tutoring children and lead a team of teachers and teaching assistants to deliver high quality learning experiences for children.
We tutor children at my home in Nomansland, in children's homes and online. We ensure that learning is focused on the needs of the children we teach, delivering a bespoke service for all children. My team and I love teaching and helping every child reach their full potential. Please contact me to discuss your requirements for your child, to help their confidence and ensure that they thrive academically. Nicola

Specialist Dyslexia Tutor
Using a multisensory approach, Nicola tailors learning to the needs of your child. This is achieved either online or face-to-face. Through assessments and planning to suit each child, she enables them to make progress and gain confidence in all aspect of learning, including: phonological awareness, memory recall, reading, spelling, writing and study skills.

11+ Tuition
We work with small groups, covering Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Nicola and Scott have supported children to pass 11+ and common entrance exams for over 18 years between them.

Year 3 - Year 7 Tuition
As a teacher, with 30 years of experience, we are well placed to assess the needs of children against today's curriculum. I offer online group and individual sessions for children up to 16 years old. Children make rapid progress in my care and I work closely with parents, and schools where possible. Homework is closely matched to each child's learning needs fostering an independence in learning. Saffie, the very well-behaved Golden Retriever, is on hand for a hug and gentle encouragement too for those children that want it!
