Becky

Alternative Provision Co-ordinator

Hi, I’m Becky, and I have nearly twenty years of experience working in a wide range of roles within education. After graduating from the University of Southampton, I completed a PGCE and began my teaching career in primary schools.

I am particularly passionate about early phonics, which led me to spend much of my teaching career working in EYFS and KS1. However, more recently, I have been teaching in KS2. I love supporting children at different stages of their learning and helping them to develop a genuine love of learning, both in and out of the classroom setting.

For several years, I worked as an SEN Consultant, liaising closely with specialist SEN schools, departments and units across Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire. In this role, I supported senior leadership teams by recruiting specialist SEN teachers and teaching assistants, which gave me valuable insight into alternative provision and specialist education pathways.

I am now really excited to be part of Forest 1st Tutoring as the Alternative Provision Coordinator. I am passionate about ensuring pupils can access education that builds confidence and enables them to thrive, while also supporting tutors to find engaging and rewarding roles.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly walking along the coast and in the countryside. I’m part of a local village book club, and my two boys are devoted football players, so weekends are often filled with matches and training. As a family, we also enjoy playing tennis and pickleball together.
