Hi, I'm Ellen and I'm a qualified teacher with three years' experience teaching in secondary schools.
My favourite thing about teaching is getting to know a child and having the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives by giving them personalised, child-centred support to build their skills and confidence.
I got into teaching due to personal experiences supporting friends and family with additional needs and seeing how this was dealt with in the education system, which has given me a lifelong passion for educational inclusion.
I am a Teach First ambassador and have a PDGE specialising in secondary mathematics which has given me the opportunity to complete in-depth research projects focusing on inclusion. My teaching approach is calm, patient, and incredibly adaptable to let children learn at their own pace.
In my free time, I like to knit and crochet, travel, and play board and video games with friends and family. At the weekend, I can reliably be found at either the cinema or the yarn shop!
