Hannah

Science Tutor

Hi, my name is Hannah, and I am an experienced science teacher with over a decade of classroom practice, having taught since 2010. I have worked in two well-regarded local secondary schools, supporting students across a wide range of abilities and helping them build both strong subject knowledge and confidence in science. I am proud to be part of Forest 1st Tutoring, where I can work closely with pupils on an individual basis, ensuring they feel supported, understood, and able to thrive.
I am passionate about making science engaging, clear, and accessible for all learners. I strongly believe that every pupil can succeed with the right guidance, and I tailor my teaching to suit each individual’s needs and learning style. Building confidence is central to my approach, and I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace.

I hold a PGCE teaching qualification and an MA in Education, alongside extensive experience preparing students for exams, including GCSEs. I have also supported younger learners in developing strong foundations in science. In addition, I have completed a Level 2 course in Understanding Autism, and I have worked with a wide range of learners, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring the forest, watercolour painting, and spending time with my two sons, two dogs, and (perhaps) too many chickens! These interests help me bring energy, creativity, and balance into my work. As a tutor, I am committed to helping every pupil feel confident, capable, and motivated. Families can expect a patient, supportive, and dedicated approach, focused on helping each child make meaningful and lasting progress.
