Helen

Tutor

Hello, my name is Helen. I am an experienced educator, tutor, and curriculum leader with over twenty years of service across schools, adult education, employability programmes, and corporate environments. I am a fully qualified teacher, holding QTS and QTLS status. I specialize in delivering Functional Skills in maths, English, and ICT from Entry Level to Level 2. I support learners from Key Stage 2 through to adults, with clarity, structure, and compassion.

My leadership experience includes heading Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education, developing cross-curricular Reality Based Learning at Key Stage 3, managing Higher Level Teaching Assistant teams, and shaping whole-school approaches to behaviour, pastoral care, and curriculum design.

My career journey has taken me from mainstream secondary education to trauma-informed Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) provision, where I led Skills and Equality initiatives and served as Wellness Lead, contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, parent consultations, and holistic student support.

As a committed lifelong learner, I strive to bring the best of myself to my students by continually seeking new knowledge and professional growth.

I live with my four dogs who enjoy a lot of walking and when I have time I particularly love seeing life from behind a camera lens and reading autobiographies.
