Hi, my name is Jo. I am an experienced teacher with over 25 years in the classroom, specialising in building confidence, core skills and positive learning habits in children who benefit from personalised support. I have extensive experience working with pupils with SEND and I bring a calm, organised and empathetic approach, helping children feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
I focus on creating engaging, accessible lessons that reflect each child’s interests and strengths, using clear communication and structured teaching. I am passionate about promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience and a growth mindset, ensuring that academic progress and personal confidence grow side by side.
Outside of teaching I am a busy mum of 2 teenage daughters, a civilian instructor in the Air Cadets and a member of the Military Wives Choir. I enjoy walking my very energetic cocker spaniel in the wonderful Hampshire countryside. I love interesting facts - did you know that a crocodile can't stick out its' tongue?
I love being a tutor and my goal is always the same: to help every learner feel capable, supported and proud of what they can achieve. I look forward to working with your child as part of the Forest 1st Tutoring team.
