Judith

Mentor and Teaching Assistant

Hello, my name is Judith and I am excited to be joining the Forest 1st Tutoring team.

Whilst not a teacher I have over 30 years or working with young people of school and college age in various roles as a leader within GirlGuiding; as a School Governor and as a volunteer with various music groups in Hampshire.

I am keen to use these experiences to develop confidence and skills in the young people I work with. I am qualified to degree level in Biology and have a post-graduate qualification in IT. I retired from work 8 years ago having spent 34 years in IT support and project management with roles that took me all over Europe.

Whilst a school governor I was involved in a number of mentoring projects as well as team-building activities and as a GirlGuide leader I support girls aged 10 to 18 and have taken them on many camps and other outdoor activities.

My hobbies include playing the french horn (since the age of 8) and I still play in 3 orchestras. I also like craft, cooking, gardening and reading.

I am passionate about giving my time and skills to support young people develop their skills and help them discover what they like doing now and how they can pursue that in the future.
