Julian

Tutor

Hi my name is Julian. I have been teaching Maths for over 25 years, and have been an examiner for years. I specialise in teaching GCSE students in Key stage 4 and A’Level students in post 16.  I became part of the Forest 1st team because they share my beliefs that every student is different and that tutoring is best when it is tailored to the individual.

Maths can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right guidance it becomes more manageable. My approach is not about rushing through topics or simply giving answers, it is about making the maths make sense.

I enjoy helping students truly understand maths step-by-step which then enables their confidence to grow and their results improve. I provide a calm, supportive environment where the student can ask questions freely, learn at their own pace, and make real progress.

I have a degree and a PGCE in Mathematics and a Post graduate Certificate in Autism and Asperger Syndrome.

To relax, I like to go to my allotment and tend to my plants. I also enjoy looking after my chickens. I have a model railway layout and when I have time, I play the card game Bridge.
