Laura H

Hi, my name is Laura and I have been teaching for 16 years. In that time I have taught across both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. I’m excited to be working with Forest 1st Tutoring, where I can support children’s learning and understanding through personalised one-to-one sessions.

I am passionate about working with children and enjoy harnessing their enthusiasm to create engaging and dynamic lessons. I have also been a SENCO in a primary school for over ten years, giving me extensive experience in supporting children with additional needs.

I strongly believe that every child learns differently, and I tailor my approach to suit each individual. Building a positive, trusting relationship is at the heart of my teaching, helping children feel confident, take risks, and develop a genuine enjoyment of learning.

I have experience preparing children for SATs and phonics assessments. In addition, I have held subject leadership roles in English, PE, and RE within a school, giving me a strong understanding of the curriculum and how to support children across a range of subjects.

My hobbies are cycling and baking with my two young children, going to the gym and travelling. In addition to this, I am on the PTA of my children's school, I can often be found running fun events for the children or asking businesses for donations.

When working with me, your child will be supported in a positive and encouraging environment where they can feel heard and valued. My aim is to help them build confidence, enjoy their learning experience, and make meaningful progress at their own pace.
