I am Louise and I have 30 years experience as a Primary School Teacher, teaching in a range of Primary Schools in London, Surrey, Dorset, Hong Kong and Hampshire.
Before training as a Teacher at Roehampton my career with children began in London where I was an NNEB Nanny with private families, and I also worked in many nurseries and Early Years settings.
I have had a wealth of experiences during my time as a Teacher and have particularly enjoyed teaching phonics and supporting children with their early reading and writing development.
Additionally I have supported a huge amount of children with SEN needs including those with EHCP's and those needing SEMH support.
I am passionate about children's well-being and believe that building positive relationships and trust, alongside finding fun ways to tap into individual learning styles and interests, are key to academic success. I'm patient, empathetic, calm and compassionate and I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping children to grow in confidence and believe in themselves.
I feel so lucky to live in the New Forest, and also close to the beach, and in my spare time I enjoy walking and exploring the local area. I also have an interest in travelling, reading and watching musical theatre shows with my daughter.
Although I am new to Forest First Tutoring, I am very excited to be part of a caring and supportive team and look forward to helping children grow and flourish whilst supporting their individual needs with a 'can do' approach.
