Hi. My name‘s Nicky and I’ve worked in education for over 20 years spending most of this time in a local primary school. I have taught children in years 3 to 6, specialising in maths and English, in the classroom, intervention groups and 1:1.
Most of my time was spent in year 6 helping children to resolve any misconceptions and filling any gaps in preparation for the SATs. I have also tutored for all of this time too, teaching children from year 2, up to taking their GCSEs in year 11. It’s so rewarding to see these children thrive with individual support and I love the moment when something that was a challenge, begins to make sense.
I am also a qualified ELSA and am able to support children's emotional wellbeing alongside their learning.
Outside of work, I love to bake - with brownies and cookies being a firm family favourite. I’m just getting into growing vegetables and am very proud of last year’s bumper crop of tomatoes and cucumbers. Next year’s challenge is to grow rhubarb!
