Hi, I’m Sally. I’ve been teaching for 27 years and am passionate about enabling young people to become the best version of themselves. I’ve taught pupils from Year 2 - Year 10, including in special schools and SEMH schools. My teaching approach is varied and I use a range of resources to make sure my sessions are as interactive as possible. I teach students at the pace that’s right for them.

Teaching for me, isn’t about feeding facts, it’s about relating what we’re learning to our own experiences, thinking creatively and being inspired. Every young person needs to know that they’re amazing and valued and through the sessions develop confidence and self-belief. I believe in every child I teach and help them to believe in themselves too.

I love working with Forest 1st because it’s a group of people who are passionate about young people and go the extra mile to support them and give individualised help. They put young people first, which is exactly what I’m about.

I have a BA in English with Qualified Teacher Status (BA QTS) and am experienced in teaching older pupils, aged 10- 16 plus to read and pass their Functional Skills, using a wide range of systems, tools and resources. I am also experienced in teaching English Literature up to Year 9.

Outside of teaching, I have two children, who although older now, still need my help. I also have two rescue dogs which my husband and I like walking in the forest. I love meditating and journaling and hold women’s circles to teach others how to get the most from these practices.
