Hi, I’m Sarah, and I’m delighted to be part of Forest 1st Tutoring. I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience in primary education.
My greatest joy in teaching is seeing a child smile or stand a little taller when they grasp a new concept—those moments of confidence are what I strive to create.
Every child learns differently, so I focus on finding the approach that suits them best, allowing them to progress at their own pace and in their own style.
My teaching style is calm, patient and empathetic. I take time to understand each child as an individual, supporting them in the way that feels most natural and effective for them. Building trust is at the heart of my work; children learn best when they feel safe, understood and encouraged. I aim to make learning fun, engaging and confidence boosting, especially for those who find certain subjects challenging.
Having struggled with Maths myself at school, I know first-hand how daunting new concepts can be. That experience has given me deep empathy and a passion for helping children believe in their own abilities.
Outside of teaching, I’ve recently taken up sewing and have even started making my own clothes. I’m not quite ready for the Sewing Bee, but I’m proud to say I’ve created a few pieces I’m happy to wear out and about!
