Forest 1st Tutoring Launches Its First Ever Children’s Books!

Updated: 2 days ago

We are really excited at Forest 1st Tutoring to share some very special news… our first ever children’s books are here!

Two Wonderful Titles

Even better, we’re launching two wonderful new titles that will spark imaginations and warm hearts. Over the past year, two groups of children have worked together with Nicola to create these stories. They have now been professionally edited, beautifully illustrated, and published. These books are written by children, for children! Their journey shows that with imagination, teamwork, and support, anyone can become an author!

The Guinea Pig Saga

The first book, 'The Guinea Pig Saga', invites readers to follow Miriam, a fearless guinea pig, and her best friend Moses. They embark on a year full of daring adventures. From a summer in France to starting secondary school, the pair seem ready for anything—until they face Tom the cat and Mrs Small, the fearsome dinner lady. Packed with humour, mischief, and excitement, it’s a story of friendship, courage, and surviving the toughest challenges school can throw at you.

Fur and Feathers Fight for the World

Our second book is 'Fur and Feathers Fight for the World'. In this tale, Orla and Penelope unleash a spell that gives animals a voice. This sparks a hilarious feud between power-hungry chipmunks and defiant ducks. From zoo breakouts to treasure hunts, this magical adventure is full of chaos, laughter, and the true power of friendship (and cheese!).

Timeless Stories for Young Readers

Both books are written for children aged 7 to 11 and deliver timeless stories filled with warmth, courage, and resilience. We know that children will identify with the characters’ struggles and triumphs, while parents will love the important values woven throughout.

Meet Our Illustrator

A huge part of bringing these stories to life is thanks to our brilliant illustrator, Emma Watremetz. Emma is an illustrator and graphic designer with a passion for creating book illustrations, especially front covers. She brings each character and scene to life with her vibrant, expressive style. If you would like to find out more or contact her about work, you can visit her website: Emma Watremetz.

In Emma’s own words:

“Working on this project with Nicola at Forest 1st Tutoring was wonderful!”

Her artwork adds warmth, depth, and personality to every page, making these books a joy to read and to look at. We were thrilled to have Emma contribute to this project, and we hope to collaborate with her again on future ones.
